12/07/2006 - The Gate wants to find amateur film critic

Cinema manager, Duncan Scott and Centre Manager at The Gate, Tracy Hulme.
The Gate, Newcastle’s premier leisure complex, is looking for the “Jonathon Ross Norman” of the North East.

The complex’s ‘resident’ film reviewer will be tasked with picking one top film each month and giving his or her opinion on the movie in the form of a podcast to be screened on The Gate’s new website.

Over the years, the cinema at The Gate has hosted North East premieres of the latest movies including Ant and Dec’s recent Alien Autopsy, football fantasy Goal!, and School For Seduction, starring Kelly Brook.

The complex has a 12-screen cinema showing all the latest blockbusters as well as classic movies seven days-a-week.

Cinema manager, Duncan Scott, said: “We want a real film buff to come forward and give an honest opinion of the latest hot releases as there are some fantastic movies coming up over the next few months.”

Centre manager at The Gate, Tracy Hulme, said: “The Gate film reviewers will have their opinion turned into a podcast to go on a new interactive website which will be launched soon. Our customers will then get an unbiased account of the film and can even post their thoughts on the movie message board.”

Anyone wishing to be The Gate’s very first film critic can send their details along with a short opinion of a movie they have watched recently to marketing manager, Jude Leitch or e-mail jude.leitch@landsecurities.com.

The new website www.newcastlenightsout.co.uk will be available soon.
