08/01/2007 - Four Point Weekend For Vipers

VIPERS sealed a four-point weekend with a 5-2 away win in Edinburgh on Sunday night.
The home side were without number one goaltender Stephen Murphy, but must have been confident after their win in Sheffield last night.
But, not for the first time this season after getting a great result on the Saturday night they failed to come good at home.
The Capitals never got off to a great start as they found themselves down by two inside the first five minutes. With 3.19 on the clock the Vipers opened their account as Cory Morgan netted, then at 5.15 the same player got his second of the game.
The Capitals did pull one back before the end of the period as Gregor Slak scored at 16.14.
With the second period underway, the Vipers were showing no signs of tiredness as they added to their account with a third goal at 26.09 from Jonathan Weaver. They then made it 4-1 at 36.12 as Andre Payette netted his eighth of the season.
The Capitals out shot their opponents 15-2 in the third period but only got the better of Peter Aubry the once and that was at 51.24 as Pavel Kowalczyk scored on the powerplay. The final goal of the period came at 59.21 with Ryan Ford pulled and David Longstaff found the empty net.
